Since 2017, researchers at the Homeopathy Multipurpose Center, in collaboration with the Atlas Peydaiesh Institute, have conducted extensive research on the effectiveness of homeopathic methods, with the aim of elucidating the scientific foundations of homeopathy and homeopathic pharmacology. These studies—carried out in cooperation with German researchers—span both plant and human models across a wide range of basic and applied scientific disciplines.

Research on homeopathic (ultra-diluted) remedies plays a crucial role in understanding the mechanisms underlying their biological activity and in providing a scientific evaluation of their effectiveness. Given the growing challenges faced by modern medicine in treating therapy-resistant diseases, investigations into the effects of ultra-diluted substances may contribute to the development of novel and complementary therapeutic approaches. Beyond human healthcare, studies of these compounds have also opened new perspectives in sustainable agriculture, microbial control, and environmental impact, expanding horizons in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, and agricultural sciences.

The broad scope of effectiveness attributed to homeopathic methods has motivated researchers at this center to pursue multiple, in-depth studies aimed at exploring both the intrinsic nature and the constituent components of homeopathic remedies.

The table below presents articles published by the Center (HMC).

Summary of Research Findings:

The results of these studies show that the use of homeopathy remedies can improve soil biological properties and influence both the growth and quality of agricultural crops. In addition, the study “Impact of Ultra-High Dilutions from Iranian Endemic and Commercial Calendula on the Germination and Growth Quality of Oryza sativa L.”  provides evidence that these compounds affect plant growth, germination, and plant metabolism.

Building on applied research, the center has also conducted fundamental studies on the structure and properties of homeopathy remedies. One of the key contributions in this area is the article titled “Remnants of Material: The Structural Study of High-Diluted Compounds,” which plays an important role in advancing the understanding of their mechanisms of action.

In addition, with the aim of standardizing research methodologies in this field, the article “Scientific guidelines for preclinical research on potentised preparations manufactured according to current pharmacopoeias—the PrePoP guidelines” was developed in collaboration with researchers from other countries. This work can significantly contribute to improving reproducibility and strengthening the scientific credibility of studies in this area.

These studies demonstrate the scientific and practical potential of homeopathy remedies across multiple fields, including medicinal chemistry, biology, agriculture, and biophysics. With a strong focus on the development of both fundamental and applied studies, the research department aims to enhance the scientific standing of this field through rigorous, evidence-based research and to create a foundation for its broader acceptance within scientific and clinical communities.

As a result of these research contributions, the department’s researchers were awarded the prestigious Bastide Award 2024 (Madeleine Bastide), reflecting the scientific impact and significance of the work conducted in this area.

In addition, alongside continuing their own research activities, researchers from this department hold editorial and peer-review roles at the International Journal of High Dilution Research. Dr. Mirzajani serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Basic Sciences section, and Ms. Saba Hosseinian acts as a scientific reviewer for the journal.
